Golf course information for Katy, Cinco Ranch, Pecan Grove, Fulshear

There are seven golf courses in the area. There is no need to drive into Houston to play golf. There are public and private golf courses. There are old and new golf courses. See a description of each below. For tee times, golf academy, golf lessons etc. click on each golf course website.

If you would like to live on one of these golf courses, there are several choices. Just click on the link for each golf course community.

You have many choices of golf courses in the Katy, Fulshear, Pecan Grove area. You can live on a golf course in many of these communities.

Golf Course Descriptions and links to golf course community homes for sale

The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch is a public course. The golf club features an 18-hole, par-71 golf course with a rolling layout that will challenge low handicappers while still offering the average player or beginner the opportunity to play an enjoyable round of golf. Designer Carlton Gipson's design features a surprising (and pleasing) amount of roll, with several holes home to elevation changes of as much as 15 feet. The elevation changes help ensure an interesting round of golf -- so do some 50 bunkers and water hazards that come into play on 16 holes. The first class practice facility and driving range is complete with two enormous tees that are always open for practice from grass. The amenities include two giant, undulating practice greens for putting and chipping improvement as well as a short game area that offers a huge bunker, many shade trees, and provides lies of varying degrees. The golf academy features ladies, golf, junior golf, a player development program, senior men's league and a men's golf association. The Willow Fork Country Club is more than a golf course as it has a fitness center, dining, pool and swim team. The 16,000 sq.ft. clubhouse features formal and informal dining areas and banquet and ballroom areas for meetings or special events The club has tennis instruction, tournaments, six tennis pros on staff and a junior tennis academy. And of course there is golf. The golf course features a narrow layout with Bermuda grass putting greens plus several holes that wind through ponds on 12 holes and with 59 strategically placed bunkers. Several ranges of tees allow the course to be setup to challenge the seasoned golfer or to protect the beginner. The practice facility has a regulation length practice range with grass tees, target greens, a chipping and pitching green with a practive bunker and a large putting green. Seven Meadows has the newest golf course in the area which is on S. Fry Road 1.3 miles west of 99. Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club has a Greg Norman 18-hole golf course and is operated by Heritage Golf Gr. Also available is an 18-hole golf course The Club at Falcon Point on Falcon Point Drive. The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch is a public golf course operated by Eagle Golf. Willow Fork Country Club has an 18 hole golf course located at 21055 Westheimer Parkway. Pecan Grove Country Club and golf course is located in Pecan Grove Plantation. It features a 27 hole golf course . Many golf leagues, programs and golf events are available though Arnold Palmer Golf Management. It has six lighted tennis courts, fully equipped state-of-the-art fitness center and a junior Olympic sized pool(also wading pool & baby pool). Kelliwood has three lake centered communities located near Westgreen and S. Fry Road. Kelliwood Lakes (map) has homes built from 1992 to 1997 and range in value from $371,000 to $1,450,000 with an average of $603,663 and 5746 sq.ft Lake Forest (map) has 73 homes in a gated community that range in value from $950,000 to $1.9 million and average over $1 million. Lake Forest backs up to the greenbelt. Lakes of Buckingham (map) homes range from $315,000 to $615,000 with an average of $422,500 and 4042 sq.ft. These communities all have Lakes. Not all homes have a lake view, but many do. These are beautiful man-made lakes that give great relief to the flat terrain of the gulf coast. To the east of most of these communities is George Bush Park. This huge park can be accessed by Westheimer Parkway and by foot at Highland Knolls. It is a part of Barker Resevoir which is a federally managed flood control reservoir and nature preserve. Most of the time the reservoir is dry and the park can be used. The balance of the reservoir is in trees and swamp about 1500 acres of which burned in the summer of 2011. The park features baseball and soccer fields, a dog park, an equestrian trail, a hike and bike trail, a nature trail, pond, a model airplane airport, a shooting range, picnic and barbecue area, children's playground. Public Schools, Private Schools, College and University

All three Kelliwood subdivisions are zoned to the same public schools in Katy Independent School District: Hayes Elementary School on Westgreen and Highland Knolls, McMeans Junior High on Westheimer Parkway near Willow Fork Country Club, Taylor High School at Kingsland and Westgreen. Grand Lakes homes for sale east of 99, Katy, Tx

Green Trails and Green Trails Estates (Map) is a large community that extends from I-10 to the south past Kingsland and along the east side of S. Fry Road and west of Barker Road. Trendmaker developed the community from 1985 to 1997 although most homes were built in the 1990's. Values range from $212,000 to $390,000 with an average of $284,000 and 3098 sq.ft.
The community park landscape is beautiful, benefitting from more than 25 years of natural growth. The community has two recreational centers with tennis courts, playgrounds, splashpad and six large swimming pools. After the intial start It remained dormant for several years and revived in 1992. Much of the area was developed under the name of Cinco Ranch.
