To the east of most of these communities is George Bush Park. This huge park can be accessed by Westheimer Parkway and by foot at Highland Knolls. It is a part of Barker Resevoir which is a federally managed flood control reservoir and nature preserve. Most of the time the reservoir is dry and the park can be used. The balance of the reservoir is in trees and swamp.
