West Oaks Village began in 1992.  Twin Oaks began in 2000.  West Oaks is about 20 miles from downtown Houston in the corner of FM 1464 and the Westpark Tollway across from George Bush High School.  West Oaks sales prices in 2011 range from $105,000 to $173,000 with an average of $126,000.  Twin Oaks Village houses range from $85,000 to $189,000 with an average of $123,106.  Twin Oaks has about 1000 homes and West Oaks has approximately 630  homes. West Oaks and Twin Oaks have inbound and outbound access to the Westpark Tollway.  The Westpark Tollway leads to the freeway 59 and Loop 610 in Houston with a few exits along the way.  It is a short distance from State Highway 6.  It fronts on FM 1464 which is a four lane road to US 90 and the Grand Parkway 99 South.  For shopping there is a Kroger grocery very nearby with lots of shops on Highway 6 and on Westheimer which goes to downtown Houston.

Mission Oaks (map) is an extension of West Oaks/Twin Oaks.  It is newer with houses built between 2004 and 2006.  Sale prices range from $91,000 to $153,000 with an average of $114,400 and 2034 sq.ft.

Public schools, Private Schools and Colleges

Fort Bend ISD serves the area with public schools: Bush High School just across FM 1464 from West Oaks. Crockett Middle School is located on Beechnut west of Harlem Road.  Barbara Jordan Elementary School is located within the  West Oaks.
Private school Kids Montessori Academy is available. Montessori House for Children school is located in Lakemont. Also Ivy Kids Early Learning Center School is in Lakemont. Westlake Preparatory Lutheran Academy is on Bellaire in Bella Terra (PreK through 7th grade). Pope John XXIII Catholic High School is on the Grand Parkway 99 north in Katy.  Harmony Science Academy West Houston, a charter school, is located at 99 and the Westpark.
Houston Community College is located on Kingsland Blvd. near Pin Oak Road and Katy Mills Mall.  A Wharton County Junior College trade school is located in Richmond. WCJC and the University of Houston have a joint campus closeby on west side of Sugar Land. The University of Houston at Cinco Ranch is located at 4242 South Mason Road, Katy, Tx.
